Ep. 4 – Standing up for the Animals, Falling in Love with Vegan Food, and Speaking up For what You Believe In w/ Veggie Mandy

Apr 7, 2020Podcast

In Episode 4 I sit down with Mandy Powell, also known as Veggie Mandy! Mandy is a strong and passionate voice for veganism in the Fraser Valley region. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a vegan meet-up when I first moved to Chilliwack, BC!

Mandy is an ethical vegan on all accounts, she came to veganism for the animals and does her absolute best to spread the word in order to do her part in putting an end to animal cruelty. She is also an awesome vegan baker and runs her own little side business.

In this episode we dive deep into :

  • her journey to veganism
  • how it changed her life and helped her overcome an eating disorder
  • we discuss how she is not afraid to speak up for the animals and everything she believes in
  • different types of activism
  • what it’s like being a vocal vegan in a very farm-based town
  • how veganism lead to her to start her own little vegan baking side hustle
  • I ask her take on questions like- can vegans wear old leather shoes?

That’s just the gist of it but we cover so much more !

You’re gonna love it, I learned so so much from her.
