Peanut Butter Chocolate Oats – Plant-Based + Gluten-Free

by Recipe Ideas

I love oatmeal. It’s so easy and versatile. If you don’t like oatmeal you’ve got to expand your horizon and try different types. There are rolled oats, and quick oats, and steel-cut oats. I do not like quick oats but rolled and steel-cut oats are so good! Quick oats tend to have a weird texture.

This specific bowl is my go-to for a decadent breakfast I get excited about. It’s super filling and use to be my go-to meal when I was about to head out for a big day of snowboarding.

This one has:

bananas

rolled oats

maple syrup

cocoa or cacao powder

soy milk

milled flaxseed (optional)

peanut butter

Check out the video below, or keep scrolling for directions !

To make follow these steps:

1) Cook oatmeal as per package directions but substitute half of the liquid for plant milk (so if it asked for 1 cup liquid, put in .5 cup water and .5 cup plant milk)

2) Cut up a banana and put into oatmeal while cooking

3) Add in a little maple syrup or stevia depending on how sweet you like your oats

4) Mix in 1 spoonful of cacao then taste oatmeal, add in another spoonful if you want it more chocolatey!

5) Mix in milled flaxseed (2 big spoonfuls) if desired (mix in the pot or once you’ve added oatmeal into bowls)

6) Cut up another banana or two

7) Place oatmeal in bowls, top with banana, peanut butter, maple syrup

11) Enjoy!!!
